Did you know that furniture stencils and paint can help uncover the hidden charm of your curbside treasure? Cutting edge stencils craft size patterns can help transform an old item into something new and functional. Continue to see how I transformed this table from old and drab to new and funky!
I decided to revive my mother’s old dining room table. The wooden table had wrought iron legs and a top that was dated and dull. Despite its present condition, I felt that paint and pattern could easily freshen it up. Here is what the table looked like before:
The first thing I did was tape off the legs and prime the tabletop. Then it was ready to be stained!
I decided to stain, glaze and antique the wooden table. Here is what it looked like after I completed that process.
Once the table had been stained and glazed, I was ready for the fun part, stenciling! I browsed furniture stencils by Cutting Edge Stencils to find the right pattern and selected the Rabat Craft Stencil. This popular Moroccan-inspired pattern is perfect for crafting small DIY projects.
I placed the craft stencil in the center of the table. I used painters tape to hold it in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern in an eye-catching blue. After each section of the stencil was painted, I would lift the stencil and reposition so I could carry the pattern across the table. Are you ready to see how it all turned out? Here is the revived piece!!
It truly is Amazing what a little sanding, staining, glazing and antiquing can do for an old table!
I absolutely love this table transformation. Sanded, primed, antiqued & finished with a BOLD blue pattern. Love this project!
